This information tracks the activities of "BDUs" (Broadcast Distribution Undertakings) in various markets. Included in these data sets is information on cable, MMDS, LMCS, DTH and other delivery systems. Markets covered include Canada and the United States. Specific types of information include subscriber figures, rates, and channel line-ups, areas served and ownership.

These data are designed to facilitate detailed analysis either by market, delivery system, MSO, country or other criteria. Specific types of analysis that can be performed with the data include: channel capacity, again by market, delivery system or other criteria, types of channels carried, weighted average rates and subscriber penetrations, or channel carriage analysis.

This data series also forms an integral part of any on-line programming guide dependent upon rebroadcast (such as cable or DTH) line-ups.

Typical questions one would pose of the data include: "How much channel capacity is available on cable systems in the Eastern United States?" "Are any cable systems in the U.S. carrying my signal, if so who and where are they?" "What are the average rates like in New York, compared to Ontario?" "Do American systems offer more or less channels on basic cable?" "Do wireless systems offer different [more or less flexibility] packaging options from wired systems?" "What about DTH systems?" "What about cable systems operated by telephone companies?"

These and the answers to many more questions can be sourced from this data series.
