A reference resource that summarizes the total
subscriber distribution of specialty and pay television channels offered by
Broadcast Distribution Undertakings (e.g., Cable, Wireless Cable,
Direct-To-Home Satellite, etc.) in Canada.
This data includes all CRTC-authorized Canadian and non-Canadian specialty
services, including U.S. Superstations (e.g., WGN, WTBS, etc.).
Non-specialty channels, such as “over-the-air” Canadian and U.S. television
channels (e.g., CBLT, CFTO, CITY, KAYU, WTVS, WUHF, etc.), are also included
in this report. However, they are only included where they are considered
ancillary services and are offered on a “non-basic” tier.

A specialized report designed as a tool to
analyze prices, subscriptions and penetration figures of specialty and pay
television channels within “extended-basic” packages offered by Broadcast
Distribution Undertakings (e.g., Cable, Wireless Cable, Direct-To-Home
Satellite, etc.) in Canada.
This data includes all CRTC-authorized Canadian and non-Canadian specialty
services, including U.S. Superstations (e.g., WGN, WTBS, etc.).
Non-specialty channels, such as “over-the-air” Canadian and U.S. television
channels (e.g., CBLT, CFTO, CITY, KAYU, WTVS, WUHF, etc.), are also included
in this report.
